Did triumph stags have ever been fitted as standard with a 2 liter engine

No-it should be Triumph's 3 litre V8, but in the late 70's when the cars were cheap many were fitted with the Triumph 2 litre/2.5 litre straight six when the V8 gave trouble.

Now the original V8's problems are sorted a lot of cars have been converted back, but you will find quite a few with the straight six fitted, and some with the Rover V8,and even some with Ford's V6.........
