My daughter has had her appendix removed this week and every other month her period has caused great pain. Would menstruating from her right side have aggrevated an already inflamed appendix?

Not sure how menstruating would affect an inflamed appendix but I do know that you don't menstruate from one side. Menstruation is where the lining of the uterus sheds itself - you may be confusing this with ovulation which occurs when an egg is released from an ovary which could be either the left or right side. It is a myth though that women ovulate left & right alternately each month as the body always selects the best egg each time ovulation occurs and that could be either side. Don't know why every other period would be so painful but I have experienced something similar myself where one month isn't too bad and the next is really bad. Hope this helps.
