Half Ton Hospital and Mr Miss World

I watched both of these last night, did any one else see them and what did they think?

i have been watching half tonne hospital it has been on a few times. I am not really sure what to think. Last nights programme i was glad to see that people were losing weight and keen to get well but in previous weeks people were phoning take aways to be brought into the hospital and the hospital was not doing that much about it. I felt that the guy was making out would like to help more people but would not 'throw out' these people that were not trying for fear that if he did they would die and would be his fault. Dont believe 'genes' are responsible. Lots I could say on it all - I wonder if you were looking on opinions about certain aspects of the programme?

not really, just wanted to see what others thought about it. I agree with what you said about the takeaways, it would never be allowed to happene in the Uk (I hope)!

the hospital director or whatever definately felt that they should not be given medication which is fair enough - he felt their mental state needed to be corrected. for example if they were still wanting take aways then they were not 'cured' so needed to be there. Did you see though recently there was a woman in the UK who was, I dont know 50 stone and she was blaming the local authority for not helping. This woman could not get out of bed - she could not get to the kitchen or shops or anything for food. How was she then 50 stone - because she lay in her bed (in the living room because could not get upstairs) and her family brought her whatever food she wanted. In my mind they are helping her kill herself - as an adult that is her choice. I worry about the really overweight kids though - if a child was for example 2 stone under weight the parents would have questions to answer and the child possibly taken into care - 2 stone overweight to me is the same kind of child abuse.

There very well could be a genetic link to obesity. My husband is always battling with his weight. His great-grandmother/grandmother/mother all had weight problems. Overeating can be an addiction.
As for the Mr Miss Pagent I watched it & found it very interesting.

I was so pleased at the end when he decided to tell his elderly parents that he was a transvestite and they loved his photos and gave him a hug and said they didn't care, I was so relieved!

Yeah i watched both, wasn't overly impressed by the half ton hospital but the Mr Miss World was good watching, felt sorry for the one on her own at the end.

I also felt sorry for Darlene. It must be terrible to be rejected by your family, all because of being true to yourself.

I watched the mr miss world thing and it left me feeling fat and ugly lol. im a 23 yr old lass and do look nearly half as good as they do!

I'm fine with the whole transexual thing, and the tranvestite thing, but got confused with the whole half man, half woman thing. Sorry for my ignorance but if i would say she if to refer to either of the above, or even a pre op transexual, but do you say he or she when, like miss egypt, they have boobs and hormones but still have man bits?

As i said im not against just confused lol
