Nice places in Southampton?

I'm moving to Southampton in July but don't know the area at all. Can anyone tell me which places to avoid and which areas are good to live in?

Hi kittykatking. I live in Southampton and the areas vary greatly! There are lots of nice places to live just outside Southampton (ie about a 10-15 minute drive) but it depends what you're after, how old you are, where you'll be working etc. Maybe if you can give me more of an idea I can advise better?

Thanks. We're looking at moving to a central area not too far from the hospital. We're a young couple. Any suggestions?
