I think they might have been easier to cope with in my fifties than they were in my sixties.
I can tell you that once everything settles down, at least in my case, even in my sixties, your sex drive returns.
Despite h.r.t, for the first year or more after my hysterectomy I had little or no desire for sex and I suspect that, subconsciously, my body was saying "whoa... we're feeling very delicate in here" You have had realy major surgery. Give youself a chance.
(And when you do, once again, feel desperate for it remember to protect your thinning skin with some moisturiser and use something like a little KY jelly at the time, or you will put yourself off it again)
Good luck the setback is only temporary

you've been thrown straight into surgical menopause, so instead of it creeping up on you, it's hit you with a sledge hammer. if you browse around you'll find lots of forums about menopause (surgical and otherwise) and get lots of help and support from ladies who've either been through, or are going through, very similar things. i actually think it's appaling that you've not been given some help and support with this from your doctor. i'm sorry not to be able to be more helpful to you, but, honestly, you will get loads of advice from the forums i mentioned. good luck.
