1. Try another blank disc (Ok, I'm sure you've done that).
2. Try a cd lens cleaner in case your cd rom drive is dirty.
3. Try a third party burning program other than wmp to burn the cd like nero or roxio. You can download trial verisons of both and if it doesn't work you can always uninstall it.
4. Try either upgrading or downgrading (if it is a higher verison of wmp) to see if it is a conflict issue.
Hint: If your cd rom will play a audio cd with no issues, it is not going to be a cd rom issue.
