4 Answers
AOl sent me a wireless router and i have brought a wireless usb adaptor. I have recently moved and the BT point is downstairs and i want my Pc upstairs. I am very confused as followed the installation cd and cannot understand what the point of wireless is when i need to have a Ethernet cable from the white router box connected downstairs to the bt socket going all the way upstairs to the back of the pc. for a start how is this wireless?
the cable doesnt reach obviously but what am i to do ?
can i buy something else, i.e another wireless router which will be wireless as dont want wires up the stairs
please help before i chuck this pc out of the house.

Then disconnect the cable and use the USB upstairs (going through the setup for the USB though).
BTW, Ethel, not all modem/routers need to be set up with cable now. BT's new modem/router lets you set up wirelessly from scratch! However, I still prefer to set up using an Ethernet cable (less hassle/more reliable? [fo3nix might disagree?]).
