Travel Insurance for a 79 year old with Angina
My grandmother has recently booked a cruise around the med (probably her last holiday abroad as she is 79) and it looks as though she may have to cancel it as she cannot get travel insurance. She has angina and high blood pressure and has been admitted to hospital on one occasion within the last 12 mnths (allbeit only overnight) which seems to make her uninsurable..... surely there must be at least one company that will cover her for medical expenses?

However it's likely that they will not cover her existing condition or will add an excess. In any case she will have to complete a pre-existing conditions form.

I tried Saga, thay promised to ring back & never did.
try these :-
Free Spirit 0845 230 5000
All Clear 0870 777 9339
Holiday Services 01773 769406
MediCover 0870 735 3600
there is also Help The Aged advice line and Diabetes UK.
I found Free Spirit the cheapest quote, if you Google Holiday Insurance for over 70s quite a few will come up, be prepared to spend lots of time on the phone answering all their questions [ up to 25 mins] and be truthful otherwise if Gran has to claim and has left something out the claim would be rejected.
It wont be cheap but Cinderella will be able to go to the ball.
