were thinking of splitting up he put my name on the mortage 2 years ago i want my name off of it i work he dont and all i want is the money for a flat deposit but dont want nothing else he says he will screw me up financially

Remember, had you been living anywhere else you would have had to pay rent or mortgage. You have had use of the flat and that must be taken into consideration.

If your name is on the mortgage and you're splitting up, then I am pretty sure that you can force a sale. So, tell him if he doesn't want an amicable settlement it will be YOU who will screw HIM up.

If he isn't working then I doubt that the mortgage company will agree to your name being removed from the mortgage.
