Why do you think people choose to hurt others? Do you think they derive pleasure from doing this? What else can they benefit from such vile demeanor?

Sad as it my seem some people do delight in hurting others, but you should always remember it is the ones that do the hurting that have the problem, not the ones they hurt. and the wheel keeps turning, there turn will come round to be hurt.

I think its all about their own insecurity, husbands who batter wives often try to put their self esteem down by telling them they are worthless, they dont do it outof gaining pleasure they do it out of fear that the wife would leave or gain self esteem.

on the whole people's insecurity/low self esteem is the only reason that they feel the need to put someone down.
for the short lived feeling of superiority, much like a school bully.

they are cowards who feed off the weak.

I actually had on here in mind when I posted the question, but hurting someone on here or elsewhere still means the same thing. So I guess everywhere.

I made comments yesterday in response to derisory comments made about groups of people, which included myself. I will generally not begin or add to posts to hurt people deliberatly, I will fight my corner if I see injustice.

In real life I have done this to help a boy who was being bullied by 3 bigger kids, I will not be a person that stands on the sidelines and just witnesses appauling behaviour without intervening.

I see too many people in life who would rather stand by and watch abuse happen than rock the boat and say something. All I want is a quiet life but I wont ignore abusive behaviour whoever it comes from.

I think cazzz has it spot on - people who have low self esteem seem to think that by hurting others it makes them seem strong when the opposite is true. I can't stand cruelty in any form, to human or animal

I go through life with one philosopy, 'Look to the Good', because I belive that there's godd in everyone, just have to dig for some people.

Yes, there are some, on and off this site who enjoy hurting and insulting, but in reality, it just shows the sort of people they are, best, if possible, to ignore them, they generally don't stay for that long.

i find its people who have a problem of their own that try to hurt innocent folk...
ive noticed it more over the last couple of months. some folk think it makes them stand out from the crowd..

im happy to say, that sort of wan ker will never be in my list of likes...
but i also believe these bullies would be nothing if they were standing face to face with the folk they try to torment in here.
