Not clear why you chose Windsor for 78. The uncle killed by the IRA was Louis Mountbatten. There is a Louis Castle, but, sadly, it's a person.

Hi Headley - I helped out another AB'er with some of these and I suggested Bodiam for 36, reasoning being if "bird" in the clue referred to a female and bod is short for body.... +
iam for I'm - but I can't say I'm fully convinced. I was trying to find a castle ending with "iam" but only found the one.

Re 35 thought of Restormel too but, like you , doesn't quite click.

I had Mount Batten Castle for number 78,but it was pointed out that this is a quiz on castles in Great Britain,and this castle is in Northern Ireland.
Have Windsor for 32.

Not very good on History but thought Mountbatten was part of the HOuse of Windsor, must have been wrong. Thanks everyone for your input .
