Hello.

My friend is having a baby shower on Saturday. Does anyone have any ideas for a present? I dont know the sex of the baby and i want to get something different rather than just a plain babygro.

Also i know the tooth boxes and baby books where you put the babys details in are a really good idea, im just worried she might get two or more of them.

Thanks for your help!

I got 3 of those baby books by the way. They are all lovely but 3 is too many lol

How much are you thinking of spending? How about vouchers for a photographer or something for when baby is born?

I didnt want to spend too much as once the baby is born i will probably want to spoil him or her even more!
Thats why i cant see the point in a baby shower, people will want to buy once the baby is born as you say.
How about just getting a nice baby shawl then? you can never have too many and can even buy them cheap in places like tesco. i have a cute 'little roo' one from there that my son snuggled in.
What about a money box? You can get some really nice ones and put some money in it before you give it as a gift so that it brings good luck.

Good ideas thank you. I agree that baby showers are a silly idea. I think its mainly a chance for us all to get together before the baby is born.
what about something from the kaloo range?

there are allsorts on there and most of them are machine washable, tumble dry and suitable from birth
hi,

if you want to be really different, how about getting a gift for the parents rather than the baby. everyone'll be concentrating on the baby and the prospevtive parents may feel a bit left out (especially the daddy), maybe a pamper kit or something along those lines

The best gift I had was a basket of all the things needed for a baby`s every day needs. Cotton wool, wipes, cotton buds, scissors, nappy sacks, baby thermometer, bibs.
Try www.comfortblankets.co.uk
why not go for something personalised???

try www.myiggerpicture.co.uk
www.photobox.co.uk

there is also a site called www.giftinspiration.com which does baby hampers and really really nice gifts. my first point of call which maybe of some help
How about a diaper cake? Diaper cakes are ideal when you want something different, because every new mom needs diapers! This is a clever and memorable way to give them - mom-to-be will love it! Have a look.
