"(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" was number one for a record sixteen consecutive weeks, then amazingly in what would otherwise have been its 17th, it was suddenly outsold by not one but three other singles. Bryan Adams dropped to number four, making way for U2 entering at the top with "The Fly", Vic Reeves & The Wonderstuff climbing four places to number 2 with "Dizzy" (which went right to the top the following week) and 2 Unlimited, not moving from the number three position with "Get Ready For This".
