Diverticular disease
3 Answers
Has anyone found anything to ease the pain of diverticular disease please.
I have had this for about two years and it keeps rearing its ugly head.
I have seen my GP and he keeps prescribing antibiotics but I am not a big fan of them as they irritate another condition that I have.
I will try anything to get rid of this blessed awful pain.

This means major surgery in very critical conditions.
I suggest you talk with your doctor and undergo tests to see just what condition you are in.
The good news is that modern surgery techniques no longer involve huge cuts of the abdomen and you can resolve the problem with just two little holes in which they insert probes and be out of hospital in a matter of days.
Ignoring the problem and taking antibiotics could prove in the long run a far more serious problem.
Of course you must find the agreement of your doctor.
Best wishes.

Thanks chick56 for this info. I do have a very good doctor and have a good relationship with him so next time I go to see him I will take your advice and talk to him about it, I must say tho, that I don't like the sound of an operation. I have had so many in my time that there are more of my bits in the hospital than I have got walking around with me lol.
