suddenly this summer, my currant bush went from lush grren with lots of berries, to a leafless, berriless bush, why?

Hi Julie, Without more information as to the type of currant, where you live and the growing conditions, it would be difficult to say. Hi - as Newt says, more info needed, but one of ours did the same - about the same time I saw a load of caterpillars!
