Are visa electron debit cards from Halifax Bank accepted in Cuba?

I think a normal visa card would be ok, but probably not electron. It's probably easiest if you check with your bank, just to be sure.

states "We recommend that you do not use your Visa or Visa Electron Pre-paid card in Iran, Iraq, Cuba, Libya or Sudan"

I know it's not the Halifax version, but I would of thought the rules for the card were the same whoever the provider was.
