Have Islamic terrorists moved the goal posts?

With the recent conviction of the would-be British-born bombers it's been revealed that they were involved in fraud to fund terrorism, and additionally they had no intention of committing suicide, but were planning to flee to Pakistan directly after they had detonated their bombs. Is this a sign of a new breed of terrorist?

Personally, I doubt it, there's virtually no defence against suicide bombers, but these, as you point out, had no intention of killing themselves, and as such, could've been caught earlier, if MI5 had been doing their job properly.

I think the reason these particular terrorists were loathe to kill themselves, is because they were home grown, and don't have the same mentality as the Middle East born ones, also, most of them were drawn into it after becoming adults and holding down legitimate jobs, not brought up to hate, that was instilled in them after, and as such, probably don't really believe in the rewards waiting for them after the've blown themselves to bits.

they are cowardly b***ards just like the ira used to do bomb and run.they ought to be made to meet allah via a hangmans noose for treason.if treason is not a law nowadays it ought to be passed in parliament asap ssso that it is punishable by death.but no doubt the do gooder brigade will have something to say about that and start bleating about the human rights of the terrorists.we are too soft in this country.

Some people think the UK is too soft and coupled with the human rights act, we seem frozen in the bombers headlights.
The USA have the right idea by asking for visas from the UK where the applicant is deemed to originate from an Islamic country but who was born and resident here. Londonistan is the correct title but this feeble government buries its head in the sand.

They do seem to have become more political than they were when their mission was purely religious, which would explain why they want to commit acts of terror but not die in the process.

The IRA latched onto this idea very quickly when they began to run out of bombers.

Maybe we should copy the USAs lead in having rendition flights. Or reverse our policies and have them sent to the USA base Guatamala in Cuba.
