One example I'll give you is: Two friends of mine got penalty points on their licences when they were 14yrs old - too young even for a licence. The points were put on when they applied for a licence after they left school.
Thank you for that Allan, it may be the law has changed, section 24 of the RTA 1988 states it is a fixed penalty non-endorsable offence (BTW it's presently �30)
Can I suggest you follow your own advice, don't talk rubbish and don't guess, above all if you are going to get it wrong, as you have, be civil when you do it, the egg won't stick as much
It is an offence to go through a red light on a bike, just like it is dashing across a red pedestrian crossing. You would have to be spotted by the police doing it as you do not have a number plate for a camera to catch you.
You may get a on the spot fine of around �30, but usually it is just a telling off.
