Seen "Have your say". Is there a current problem with drinks being spiked in England?What are they spiked with? drugs?

last year on my birthday me and my mates went out,we meet up at 8 by 9.30 i was back home,we went ot one pub i had 2 wines,then we went onto another one,i remember walking in we ordered our drinks,sat at a table,had a bit of a dance then thats all i remember,my best mate said one min i was fine the next i was in a heep on the chair and id hardly touched my drink,i still to this day say my drink was spiked,so now everytime im out myself or my hubby get my drinks and they dont leave my side,im so scarred of it happening again.i dont know hwat they put into our drinks, this has been done to me before as well at a family wedding years ago.

There have been occasions when women have had their drinks spiked with 'date rape' drugs. There was a case in the newspapers a couple of weeks ago where a waiter saw a man putting something into the wine of the women he was dining with (while she was in the toilet). The waiter managed to catch the woman before she got back to the table, the police were called and the man was charged.

It's not just females, last year a strapping. six foot lad was collapsed outside my daughters mates birthday party on the pavement. He was unable to control his limbs and was zoning in and out ... I had to wait for the parent to pitch up before I could drop the kids to their houses. Who ever put the stuff in his drink had used enough to knock out a rhino ... he was in hospital for thirty six hours. The only positve was that apart from the barmen they knew everybody at the party ... scared the bejaysus out of them and they have been paranoid about it ever since.

Thanks everybody!!! I didn't realise it was so bad in England. Doesn't anyone know what they put in? Is it really so easy nowadays to get hold of this kind of stuff in England? Thanks again and take care!

I know of a couple of 30-something, well dressed women who went out and got their drinks spiked. One was worse than the other and collapsed in the toilet, her friend raised the alarm but was also in a bit of a state. They were taken to hospital and despite their claims that they were spiked, were treated like a couple of drunks. They contacted police when they had been discharged but it was too late to be tested. They had 2 glasses of wine each the whole night. Their treatment was disgusting.

the date rate drug is colorless and odourless , so you would not know you had been spiked its pathetic that you can't even have a drink without fear of getting drugged !

The main danger ie the date rape is a drug called rhohiptnol (sp?) which i believe is a muscle relaxant so that resistance is imposable. Any addition to drinks ie shot of vodka is also classified as spiking. All of this behavoiur is highly dangerous and not funny.

My daughters drink was spiked 3 days before we were all flying out to Cyprus as she was geting married there, whatever they spiked her with caused her to fit for 24 hours, it was terrible watching her and there was nothing we could do. She knew she had been drugged as all she had drank was 1 vodka and coke and then a bottle of water.
