my dad has lent me money to buy a house but wants to put a charge on the property.how do I do this and how much will it cost.

see the solicitor who is buyinng/conveying the propery in your name.

There are quite a few ways of doing this - putting a charge on the land registry is a bit formal
and both siginng a letter saying he has equity in the propertyis another

Depends how official you want it.
