Have you tried a shoe repair shop...Not a place near a train station that just does new heels or something but a proper place like Timpsons, I'm sure I've seen them in there. Think they could be referred to as shoe trees:

I bought a pair of shoe stretchers, but they weren't that good!

I took the shoes along to our local cobblers & they successfully stretched them for me (over a few days) & only charged me �2.00!
