City or country?

Do you prefer to live in a big busy city or do you enjoy the peace and tranquility of the country? I've spent most of my adult life living in the city (ok, large town) and I've recently moved back to the small village where I grew up to live with my parents, and I hate it! There's nothing to do, everyone knows your business and it's full of people I went to school with who have never moved on and still think a great night out is going to the same local pub they went to when we were young! Where would you prefer to live? :)

Hi Helli, I was born and bred in the centre of London,moved to the country 25 years ago and all though I still love London I would never move back there, I love my life in the countryside, walking, fishing etc heaven .

I live in small village in saddleworth nestling in the pennines, wouldn't swap for the world. 5 pubs 2 clubs, chippy, 2 restaurants, chemist, bakers and co-op. I am a comer inner although been here over 20years.
The locals can be quite funny, kick one and half the village limps.

I lived in North London all my life but moved to a village last year and I love it, 1pub,1school ,plenty of fields and open countryside to walk the dog and that`s it

There`s about 300 people in the village,no hoodies,no junkies,no riff raff....every now and then I go back to my old pub and hear the same people moaning about what a sh!thole it is round there

I live in the country. but it has different problems.It is raining now and blowing a gale and I worry about the little lambs in the field next to my house, they must be wet and cold. Also the dawn chorus is very annoying they wake you up at 5am. Plus the most annoying thing is that I have spring water and the pipes are bloked and I havent had any water since last Thursday.

I have the best of both worlds - I live on the edge of the New Forest , 10 minute drive to the beach and a 10 minute boat ride away from West Quay shopping mall in Southampton. I can get to London in an hour on the train or by car so I have my country life and my town life.

I live with carakeel in a little village with the nearest town 10 minutes away, I have lived in small towns and villages all my life and hate it if I have to go into a city (Exeter being our nearest) for shopping etc.
There is no way I could ever live in a city!!!
