What is the best method of killing off the roots of shrubs that are growing thru my tarmac? I've cut all of the 'bush' off but can't get at the roots without digging up the tarmac. Weedol doesn't seem to do the trick.

Paint the stumps with SBK, you can get it in nearly every DIY store or garden centre
try diesel
Try to get as close as possible to the stump and then put on ROOT OUT. It comes in crystal form and can be bought from good hardware stores.
This kills the plant whthin a 6 - 8 weeks without the need to dig up, and it really does work.
