Not a question actually but just got back from Florida and we flew with Virgon. The bf, being into this internet lark, checked us in online (between 2-24 hours before flight) and we even had our boarding passes printed off. We had no queues or hassle. On the way back we checked in on line again (using an internet cafe) and went straight to the baggage drop at Orlando airport. What an easy way to do t hings. Highly recommended!!

Yes we do that when we can - we just returned from Istanbul and checked in on-line both ways. we flew with BA, I believe a lot of airlines do this now. Saves loads of time.
it's great when it works - but if you get to Paris Airport on a busy Saturday afternoon (like I did at Easter) and there's no fast bag drop counter, then you're in the queue with everyone else.
Hoping to do that when I fly next week with BMIbaby. Got 4 flights though, there and back so don't know if I'll be able to do it with the others.
Checked in online at BA earlier this year when I flew to New York.
When I flew Virgin to Orlando though we checked in in Orlando at Downtown Disney, they even took our suitcases off us so we were free all day with no luggage - fantastic!
and you don't have to be at the airport 3 hours before takeoff. But things can go wrong. I tried checking in online for BA this month; the screen froze, put me in a seat at the back of the plane and refused to change (in theory I could have picked my own seat). Computers, eh.
