tudor knights

my son is doing a school project on tudors and has to choose a character to write about and dress as, he has chosen a tudor Knight! this is proving to be very difficult to find any info on, does anyone know of a good website to go to? i need to make a costume .....and write about daily life!!! Also does anyone know if a medieval knight is the same as a tudor knight (because medieval info is easier to find)

Try using sir Walter Raleigh or Sir Francis Drake as a model, even tho people think of them as Elizabethan, Elizabeth I was also a Tudor

no - medieval was not the same; in fact it's commonly said that the medieval era in England ended when Henry VII, the first Tudor, came to the throne (1485). Obviously there was no great overnight change, but in general I wouldn't use information on medieval knights unless you're absolutely certain it still applied in the later era.

I think Henry VIII's coat of armour is in the Armoury museum in Leeds if you're round that way.

You should read Alison Weir (wear) Henry VIII. It will give you details of jousting, during that period. A medieval knight is definitely not a Tudor knight. Its about 300 years too early!
