When to let a kitten outside
4 Answers
Hi All
We have a 6 month old kitten who is just about to be neutered next week. We were wondering when we should start to let her go outside once she's had the operation done.
She seems so small still that it seems too soon, but we think she will be quite a small cat anyway as her Mum was.
All suggestions gratefully received!

It might be an idea to speak to your vet about when she could go out. I imagine though that you are concerned about her safety more than anything. Once they are neutered it's usually safe but I would suggest getting her chipped in case she runs off and introducing the great outdoors very gradually and only when you are there. Are there any roads nearby or other cats around? You need to be aware of these but really it's a case of taking a deep breath and letting her go. If she knows where her food comes from and that she is loved she won't want to go far. Good luck!
