How do I help my adopted nieces find us?
3 Answers
My two nieces were adopted in the early nineties. They will be 19 and 20yrs old now. Whilst I would love to be a part of their lives, I wouldn't want to impose myself on them, however, I would like them to find us easily & quickly should they ever decide to look us up. Their father (my brother) died suddenly last year and we know nothing of their mothers' whereabouts. Are there any agencies which we could log our details with in order to help the girls find us quickly should they ever decide to? Thanks in advance

Then your nieces would easily be able to find you if they are looking.

hi.
im adopted and when i looked for my family i found them easily. i used my local council adoption team. when i was born my mother left me a letter with them for me to open when and if i started looking. you could try the council. or there is always friends reunited put your details on and you may get luck however the problem is sometimes the children arnt told they are adopted. or feel abandoned and block out the truth make sure your phone number is listed. as they are over 18 it is possiable for you to contact them.
if you decide to go down this road i would use a person as a go between at first. to perhaps write a letter or phone. so that they have time to decide if they want to know more!
good luck!

Thanks to all who replied, I am taking your advice. I hope your reunion with your birth family went well Kittywoo. I dont actually intend to look the girls up as i wouldn't want to cause any upset or disruption. I am just going to log my details so they can find me, hopefully, quickly, should they ever start looking. thanks once again xx
