Turning left I get a knocking noise on occassions when I am decelerating. It doesn't appear to be happening if you accelerate into a corner. There doesn't appear to be any other problem i.e the car rides fine and there are no other problems if you brake etc. Any suggestions?

Sounds horribly like a cv joint has gone - I had the same thing some years ago.

common prob on this car and various audis im afraid . sounds like the cv boot has split and the grease has escaped resulting in the cv joint wearing.
