9 yr old daug has nasty cut/scrape on side of wrist. i have used first aid ointment and band aids during school day and at nite let air out and it still is kinda gooey and wont scab over real good ... help any suggestions
got - Hi, when my son had a graze on his nose, I suggested he put the hairdryer on it for a couple of minutes from a safe distance perhaps once a day after he had washed.
If it is gooey she may need an antibiotic to kill the germs you cant get - safe bet to stop scarring! Ring NHS Direct for advice about going to doc or not!!
my kids have had cuts and grazez that have become infected with impetago (very gooey and infectious) can only be treat with an antibiotic though. or maybe its taking a while to heal. I personally wouldnt put any dressings or plasters on as this will make it a moist envirement, all i would use is an antiseptic spray!!
