I want to make a fruit flan, just a simple sponge base with mandarins and jelly. Oncie I have laid the fruit on top do I poor the jelly straight on or should I wait til the jelly has started to set a bit?
Hey GS :-)
I use that Quick Gel for strawberry flans, and I think they do a citrus flavour one too.
Other than that, I'd drizle/spoon the cooling jelly over the fruit.
Sound deelish, and am now wanting!!! lol
The memories are from my mum making that flan on a Sunday and always served with cream.... there goes the diet idea then ;-) that or a good walk afterwards....
I stuffed my face on chocolate yesterday hehe... a whole bar of Lindt gone in nanno seconds!!! my elastic trousers are gonna need letting out at this rate hehe :-)
Is your little cat getting better now btw? sorry to diverse.....
We love fruit flan. I used to make my own sponge base with a flan tin, but discovered Asda/Tesco ready made ones are great and cheap. Our favourite is Strawberry and I always use Red Quick Jel, it only takes minutes. I believe they make an orange one as well. Another quick version is to use tinned fruit pie fillings, then you don't need jelly - the cherry variety is yummy.
