Old PS2 game

Hi,

My girlfriend has mentioned a game she used to have for the PS2 and here's where it gets tricky.

It is a detective game and all she remembers is your charecter saying "hello, is there anybody there" and getting the reply "Be on your way stranger"

I don't know this game and if anyone can help I would be eternally greatful.

The classic detective game I remember is "Where in the world is Carmen Santiago". I don't even know for sure if it was on PS2, sorry, but maybe that will help to jog your lady's memory.

I believe it's in first person perspective, not third person.

Are you sure it is a detective game or more of a strategy action because it sounds incredibly familiar to me . perhaps something like resident evil? or the butterfly prodject hope this helps cos there is nothing worse than not remembering something it gets right on my tits!!!
