Just got my first tax reminder for it - �112 for 6 months ! How can this be? I thought new cars were more eco friendly ??? Co2 emissions....etc etc..my last car was more powerful, GTI, petrol and yet its tax was only �95 for 6 months ! I dont understand it.... :-( Not happy

See the attached link which shows the current costs. This would be band f 'Over 185' - 205.00 for 12mnths or 112.75 for 6 mnths.

You should have stuck with the GOlf, however the newer car is more powerful so they must judge it on boy racer value.
Theres only really one thing you want to do with a 1.6 Ford Ka, as they are not commonly seeen, and thats be quicker than the rest, the government know this hence the hefty tax.
You could be worse, it could be a Land Rover and you'd be paying �400 lol.
my Megane is around the same and its the same size engine so who hard done by, when you whizz by me at the lights?
