Hey nat_84, huge congrats on your pregnancy. Really hope you got some girls names ready!
Anyway, funny you should ask that question as I am Italian and my husband (who is English) we have just sold our house and after years of talking about it we're heading off to Southern Italy for the rest of the year (at least) my main reasons are:
1.Family ties & lifestyle
2.Climate
3 The Food
4.Culture
We just handed our notices in at work last Friday too!

Love-Lee - thats amazing! You're so lucky!!! Will we be seeing you on one of these programmes... "A Place in The Sun", "A house in the country", "Locaton, Location, Location"
lol.
I really admire people that actually do something about it and take that step out of there comfort zone. Understandably u have family and friends in Italy which makes it a lot more easier for you both.
If you want to do it and can do it - why not, thats what i say!
Hope you have a wonderful time!
(thanks for the congrats!! :O))

Like redcrx, I will utimately live in England, note England and not Scotchland or Wales!!!!
I have a house in France which is lovely, especially the food and the way of life. But the bloody French. Mon Dieu, they are a funny bunch, all garlic and Citroens.
I also have holiday homes in Bulgaria, but these have yet to been built. For a peasant country, it is very nice. Offers a myriad of opportunity from skiing to (almost) tropical beaches. And it is sooooooooooo cheap. a three course meal, loads of wine and lap dance for under twenty quid!!
Lived in Germany for a short while, outside of barracks and they too are a funny bunch.
Don't know much about Italy, but the food and history are second only to England.
Although booming, the rest of the peasant old Eastern Block, they can stick up your commie arse.
Spain is too hot, Portugal the same.
Nobody lives in Switzerland and Austria apart from the Swiss and Austrians.
The Nordic countries are OK, apart fron Denmark, which is boring. As is Belgium.
Holland is a strange place, but OK if you ignore the one square mile of rampant drugs, booze and sex.
Iceland doesn't count in reality and the Channel Islands are too expensive.
Yep, I'll stay in England.

Assuming we are talking about the EU rather than Europe then if you live in the UK you can go and live in any of them. So the answer for anyone in the UK must surely be .... err UK.
Why sit and stare at the lush grass on the other side, just sod off and live there, as usual though it's not where you live that makes a difference it's who you are. People sitting around slagging off their own country because they haven't got a free lunch rapidly find out that the grass ain't any greener elsewhere!
For myself I already live where I would want to given the choice, of course I have had the choice that's why I live In the Best town in the best country. Bournemouth, England!
