I must admit that 97% is a huge majority of those who posted in one thread but as I have said previously about the AB Polls it is meaningless without knowing the numbers involved.
I had a look at the post by Leighton as it gives a breakdown of the replies
First off, here is the actual question for those who could not read it all because of that big, stupid "A"
Who wants the Sports AnswerBank site shutting down so we can all go back to www.answerbank.co.uk for our sporting banter???
And here are the results:
We got a total of 46 replies until it was unfortunately cut short just before it reached its half century!
YES - 36
NO - 2
Other comments - 6
Also, allotment10 answered YES 3 times! This could be counted as another 2 YES votes. But I decided not to include these in the 36 total, because I think that a 36 total out of 38 votes, in favour of the original answerbank says it all really!
So, by my calculations, I make it that 94.7% of SAB users want the Sports AnswerBank site shutting down so we can all go back to www.answerbank.co.uk for our sporting banter!
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
p.s I hope some of you get to read this before it is banned
Firstly, there were negative responses and secondly, thirty-six positive responses out of forty-six posts represents 78.2% of the replies.
If percentages only are quoted they sound impressive but when the numbers involved are known, they are not.
I do not know how many folk are members of this site but I would think it runs into the hundreds if not thousands (that is the impression at least.)
Thirty-six folk opposed to the change is not that large a number and if you think of all the many who called for the return of ChatterBank, I doubt you will be successful.
