Dalziel and Pascoe - Urgent!!
15 Answers
In the episode 'Halls of Silence' a passage was read from a book, something about 'think of me' and looking at stars. I need to find what it is urgently, my niece loved it, sadly she died last week and her Mum wanted this read at her funeral, but noone can remember it. Tried the bbc, no luck. Can anyone help us, please?

I am, however, familiar with a lot of passages that are beautiful in time of grief. I wonder if one of them was used for this episode of "Walls of Silence".
You can see a number of them at the following web site: http://www.ifishoulddie.co.uk/poems.htm
If this doesn't include the one you are looking for, let us know, so we can perhaps help you more in your search. A number of websites give the name of the scriptwriter for "Walls of Silence" (matthew hall). Perhaps the BBC would have a contact e-mail address for him.
There is also this poem here:

Never saw the episode but could this be it?

I don't know if you spoke to the BBC again. I managed to find a website with 2 people who have acted as agents for Matthew Hall. I reckon that they would be able to contact him for you. There e-mails are on this website. Scroll down to H and you will find Matthew Hall's name. I know Matthew Hall definitely was the scriptwriter for "Loving you" as well as some of Dalziel and Pascoe episodes - so if you look to the extreme right of "Loving you" you will see the agent's initials. You could e-mail the agent with your request/question. The agent should be able to pass your e-mail on to Matthew Hall. The website is: http://www.casarotto.uk.com/writers.shtml
I know it is a long shot but it may work!
I'm so glad the "long shot" worked. I know how difficult it can be when you have a poem/reading/hymn buzzing about in your head and can't find it. I also know that there is added pressure when you have limited time (such as when you only have a few days before a funeral). I worked as a minister in the Church of Scotland for 13 years and amassed lots of poems/meditations etc for most occasions. I married a Swedish psychologist in 2002 and now live and work as a minister in Sweden. I have had to start building up my resources again - this time in Swedish.
I am not sure if your niece's funeral has already taken place. I wish you and your family/relatives every blessing at this time.
