Torn ligaments
3 Answers
Last week I was at step aerobics class, about 40 mins into the class, we were well warmed up, I heard an almighty 'pop' inside my left calf! As I put my foot down I collapsed with the most horrendous pain in my leg. I saw a nurse at the local walk-in centre who said I had torn ligaments on the inside of my left calf and to rest it, ice it, manipulate it and it would get better.
I have been doing all of this and can now walk in heeled shoes but not very well in bare feet or trainers - my leg is black and blue bruised from my ankle upto my calf. I am worried that it will heal enough to only wear wedges or heels and I will have lots of pain if I wear trainers or flats.
Has anyone got any advice on how they coped with it please.

When ihave done it badly (like it sounds you have) i had my leg/foor put in plaseter - otherwise as you said it might heal to short which means that heels will be comfy but flats won't. Even now it oulls when i wear flat shoes as sometimes they can over fix themselves making them quite short - i would stronly advise you go to A+E as you need an exray and possibky a cast/crutches.
