No joy there got error 680 no dial tone. when I pick my phone up I can hear the dial tone. I have reconnected everything back how it was but still cant get online. daughter is in middle of gcse revision on line so any help would be appreciated. ps I am writing this at work so any answers before 3pm would be appreciated. many thanks

Error 680 should only occur with a dial-up connection.

Regarding thhe wireless router problem, have you bought a router or a modem/router.
It will obviously need to be the latter if you are not using your old modem.
