I am doing an NVQ and need to know what diversity means. I have googled it but there are so many different opionions out there and I don't know what is right or wrong. Please help me as I have a headache now.

Then it probably means including those of many ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Diversity in the business world is the shorthand for a representation of the differences found in society as a whole. This might be in relation to a customer base or a the workforce for example.

In the context of public sector, there are "duties" in place which require evidence that diversity is being actively pursued.
