how do I place icon`s i.e internet explore etc on my taskbar (bottom right hand side) next to my clock etc on my pc

If you are talking about the icons such as "My Computer" etc, then the following steps should do what you ask: 1. right-click your mouse on the bottom bar on a point where there is no program minimised. This should bring up a menu which says "toolbars" at the top 2. highlight the "toolbars" option and the arrow at the side of the word should expand to another menu which has "address" at the top 3. click on the option which says "desktop" and this should create a shortcut to all desktop items at the bottom right of your screen.

I drop and drag i.e. single click the icon on your desktop then just drag it into the taskbar. Job done.

You can't drag and drop to the bit of the taskbar on the right hand side nest to the clock. However you can drag and drop on the taskbar between the 'start menu' and the clock.

For reference, that bit on the right of the taskbar is called the system tray.

Why are you particularly specifying the RH portion of the Toolbar as this contains active programme icons primarily. DOB`s solution will give you quick access to all your Desktop shortcuts whereas you are only asking for IE.If you follow DOB`s instructions but at step 3 select quick launch, this will bring up the shortcut items on your toolbar, albeit on the LH side and will only have a few,one of which will be IE. Incidentally you can then drag and drop any additional ones to it as Philtaz suggested, BUT Quicklaunch must be enabled to do this, which he omitted to tell you.
