cold water goldfish

Hi,

I have about 12-13 goldfish in a pond in my garden however i have just noticed that 2 of them have what loooks like black spots on them and there tails have gone black as well!!

Can you please advise what this could be?

A lot of goldfish go through colour changes throughout their lives and is a result of many years worth of different goldfish genes all getting mixed up.

Temperature increases and sometimes pH swings can trigger colour change.

Nothing to worry about and enjoy your new coloured fish

Goldfish can change colour, but black dots by the tail can also mean that the fish is pregnant!!!

Message for HJT40....where on earth did you hear that about black spots by the tail mean that a goldfish is pregnant ?

If you can post a link to the info, i'd love to see it, otherwise, it's the most ridiculous bit of info i've read on here.
