Paul Merton In China

On a recent episode of Paul Merton in China on channel 5 (not tonight but an earlier episode) Paul Merton went to a city that he said was suffering from pollution. The skies were very foggy and he visited a street called dog alley where the streets were lined with Dog Resteraunts. Could somebody please please tell me the name of the city he was in?

I've just watched this episode again on sky plus. It was near the end of the second episode and he was in Chengdu.
