Punt, or French use the term pointe I think, which is the term from a wine bottle.

Brandy is a shortened version of brandywine - from Dutch for burnt wine, not 'cos its from wine, but from wiine that is heated - i.e. distilled, and it used to be put into wine bottles so this should answer the query. I hope.....
