Job Interview

Hi there , a work colleague of mine was up for a job interview with another company.........there was only one other applicant for the position who was interviewed before my friend and immediately offered the job without my friend being seen . Just wondering the legality of this.......its also happened in Scotland if that makes any difference.....

Not very good practice by the company but they can employ who they want so long as they haven't discriminated on grounds of race, sex etc etc.
