I shouldn't think so, because water isn't a conducter of electricity
Could you explain more please Kitty Kat? If water doesn't conduct electricity, how does the chemical process of electrolosis work?
Have just done some research and discovered that PURE water is a poor conductor of electricity but salt water is a good conductor because the salt breaks down into ions which have a positive or negative charge, therefore the electricity WILL be conducted. Therefore Melissa_dwl's original question is a valid one.
Yes and no - the charge disspates rapidly in a large body of water and the majority of the current - it is believed - stays at or near the surface - in bad weather the fish will stay at the bottom. If the fish were at the surface and near the strike they they could be stunned or killed
