28 C = circa, 'about'
22 P = piano, 'quiet' . . . . misspelt 'quite' ?

Thanks johnalex I do like to learn something as I do these quizzes. Are you doing this one, I think I have finished but should have 20 British rivers but only have 13!!
Hi tpw - I'm not doing this quiz but am always pleased to help if I can. Not sure why you've ended up with 13/20 which is quite a wide discrepancy - suggest you wait for reponse from others, either on this thread, or by joining in theirs. Good Luck! ja
I too found it very offputting of the quiz setter to say that half of the rivers were British, when they weren't, and put a note to that effect on my returned entry. I hope that quiz setters have made a note of our comments, and will realise that the instructions for finding the correct answers are just as important in ensuring that we are not wasting time unnecessarily., as the actual quiz itself.
There are several British rivers with the same name as a river in a foreign country.River Don for e.g. one in Yorkshire and one in Russia.
