I am sure that you are aware that carrying excess weight is frowned upon by the Medical Profession, so I would advise you to get rid of your spare tyre.
If i had asked 'do i have to get rid of my spare tyre to pass an mot test?' then it works.

The spare tyre is not a testable item.
If the spare is missing as long as you have no other failures, the car will pass.
If the spare is defective (bald tyre or flat) the MOT tester should give you a VT32 (Advisory form), which advises you of the problem.
The spare wheel if it's suspended under the car on a carrier must be secure.
The Law.
It is not against the law to drive a car without a spare wheel.

With the computerised system it's impossible to fail it, so geggsy you're talking rubbish.
There is no fail criteria for having no spare wheel.
The only thing mentioned about the spare in the Tester's Manual is:-
Check that any externally fitted spare wheel and/or carrier Is securely attached to the vehicle.

If you saw someone fail a car for that, he was wrong. End of story.
