My husband has an audio cd/mp3 player i.e it will player MP3 cds. Does this mean we need to have an MP3 player to load our cd's on to or favourite music then download from the MP3 player on to disc so we can play it in the car

There are two ways of burning a music CD: "audio" format and "data" format.
"audio" format makes the CD a proper CD (like you buy in the shops) so it should play on any CD player (in car etc)
"data" format just copies the files to the CD as individual mp3 files but it will only play on a player that can play mp3 files.
