Argh!! Pregnant?
6 Answers
Here goes, am on the Pill (Norinyl) but me and the bf normally use condoms, but didn't have any so we used the withdrawal method instead, thinking it should be okay. Four days later I came down with cystitis and went on antibiotics, which negate my Pill. The next day we had sex, at college (I know it makes me sound awful), I'd forgotten about the antibiotics cancelling the effect of my Pill so I went and got the morning-after Pill. I'm now spazzing out about being pregnant. I know I haven't ovulated because I get ovulatory pain, so in theory I should be fine for the time we used withdrawal, can anyone put my mind at rest about the morning after Pill? I mean, if I've not ovulated since last October because of the Pill then surely I should be *fingers crossed* OK? And what excatly do the antibiotics do to my Pill? Any advice please!!!

No one can tell you if you are or aren't pregnant hb. Antibiotics will affect people in different ways, no doubt. Get a pregnancy test - in fact, I'd recommend getting two different ones from different brands - to put your mind at rest.

IF you took the morning after pill as you should, the morning after, and you wasn't sick or ill after taking it, you should be fine. However, it would be a good idea to do a test just in case as Chuffing suggested. To be certain, you could also get one done at your doctors too. After that, both of you get down the family planning clinic and stock up on condoms!! lol
Good luck!

You should take the morning after pill as soon as possible to increase it's chances of working but you can take it up to 72 hours afterwards I believe. I am no expert but from what you've explained I think you'd be quite unlucky to be pregnant. If you take the pill anyway but didn't have condoms the pill should act as the contraceptive and if you took the morning after pill this should act as the contraceptive for when the pill wasn't working. Could you ask a pharamcist in a chemist to get their advice just to put your mind at rest?
Thanks for the support Red, were you having a bad day, or did you just fancy attacking someone? You obviously can't be human because I didn't ask for a slating - just advice. I'm not a tart - anything but - and everyone screws up - it's a fact of life, but at least I admitted it.
Sorry, now that's off my chest, thanks Chuffing, Psychick and Nuoyg for the help. I'm going to the docs when I finish my pack if I don't have a withdrawal bleed or if it's heavier/lighter than normal. But I took the morning-after pill bout 30 mins after we'd had sex and didn't throw it up so hopefully it'll have worked.
Me and the bf have had our talk about it, both of us yelling, and we know we made a mistake, and we got lucky, but we're not going to do it again - I for one, can't take the stress. Thanks guys for the advice.
