ripping cd's

i insert a cd in my computer but nothing happens.
i want the computer to rip my cd but nothing at all comes up.
my old computer always had a pop up thing which asked me to choose which action i wanted.
i can go into my computer and find the audio cd there which takes me to windows media player.
at this point when i click on the start rip button the computer tells me i cannot rip more than one track.
even trying this it still will not rip my cd.
can anyone help me with this problem.

maybe its the brand you are using.

a brand i used to swear by simply stopped working one day.no idea why.
