when will my cat give birth?
8 Answers
my siamese cat is 66 days gone and as big as a house. for the last week she has been very very loving (she never used to be before she was pregnant) she does seem to be looking around now and then but just settles back on the floor and goes to sleep, she meows know and then 2. The kittens have been kicking a lot the last week or so and you can see them moving. this morning i was sitting watching her and i could hear a gurgling swishy sound coming from her stomach every few minutes. but she seems so relaxed and shes still eating. I have also noticed some powdery diposits on her nipples for the last 2 weeks. does anyone have any ideas when shel give birth?

Perhaps a couple of old towels or blankets hidden away in different places such as behind the sofa. She may not use these, but theyre there jsut in case.

she had a litter before she came to us. we have a male siamese as well. I have heard of cats holding on to their pregnancy. im wondering if thats why shes taking so long. maybe i should take the male to another room for a while and see if this works? the only thing is they cry for each other when they are seperated. my mother in law keeps telling me that the kittens wont come out till their cooked, maybe their just not ready quite yet?
I looked into this a little more, mainly out of curiosity.
The gestation period typically runs from 57-69 days:
"The second question is easier to answer than the first; a queen's gestation period typically runs from 57 to 69 days, with the average of 63 to 64 days. I like to use "63," because it is nine weeks, equating to human pregnancy average of nine months, making it easier to remember. Of course, your queen will have her kittens when she is going to have them, so these figures are only for your benefit, to be able to approximate the time. "
Maybe it is too early to be worrying? But if you really want to make sure all is ok, do as jules has suggested and give your vet a call.

had the kittens this aftanwn, really bad birth!
1st one arrived breach, sadly he was still born and we couldnt get him breathing, he was huge, 3 or 4 times as big as the others. i was really shocked. the 2nd was also breach but is now doing fine. the 3rd and fourth babies were born but the placentas on both were still inside so both times ended up hanging from the mother for at least 10 minutes. the 5th just slid out without warning. their are all doing fine now. only problem was we had to take them away from the mother for a few minutes as she got confused and tried to eat them, we've now put them back and shes feeding them and bonding with them good. still a bot upset about the 1st born, cant beleive how big he was, was bout the size of a kitten a few wks old.
